Sea Lion Island
Sea Lion Island is a small island at the south of the Falklands.
It is the southernmost inhabited island of the islands. The settlement includes a small lodge, Sea Lion Lodge, the old farm house, a wool sheed, and some portacabins. There are two main airstrips, the old one, a grass airstrip at the west of the island, and the new airstrip that is located close to the lodge. Normally, the settlement is inhabited just during the lodge opening season, mid August to mid April. The island is owned by the Falkland Islands Development Corporation, while the lodge is owned by Wild Falklands Ltd.
